Veltliner in two ways
The joy of comparing wines from different vineyards – that’s what I live for. You’re already pretty familiar with our Sauvignons from sandy, limestone, or clay soils. And for good reason – we’ve been working with them for 8 years now. I’m really glad you enjoy comparing their differences and nuances as much as I do. Sauvignon is one of the three white varieties we focus on, and it gets the most of our attention. I love how it reflects the unique character of each location.
But Hustopeče isn’t just about Sauvignon – it’s also about Grüner Veltliner. It has a long tradition here, just like across Moravia. But the Grüner from Hustopeče has its own specifics. We grow it in sandy soils at Růženy and clay soils at Na Výsluní. And now, they’re here – two distinct examples. One is fruitier, the other has more almond-like notes. You can taste the role soil and location play in the final wine. Same process, but different flavors. Why? The key lies in the soil.
